For those who are looking for ways to support the school, we have a regular donation link that is always open. Your support will go towards maintenance and upkeep of the school, as well as improving the facilities, keeping a defibrillator and more first aid on hand, and providing students-in-need with scholarships and discounted tuition.

Women’s Year of the Dragon Seminar Series: Self Defense & Empowerment

Master Sheryl is excited to offer this 3 part series to celebrate both the Year of the Dragon (she is one) and to kick off Women’s History Month!

This year, instead of just a women’s retreat, we’re offering 3 gatherings. All are open to teen girls through senior women, kung fu or tai chi practitioners.

This first seminar will be Sunday April 14th 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The theme is Self Defense & Empowerment!

The first hour will cover self-defense and bag work. The second hour will examine our personal power (at work, at home, in relationships, as a parent, over ourselves,…) We’ll look at what’s working and what isn’t, and how to step it up!



Tournament: Tigers, Dragons, Kids + Teens

*Meeting at 9:30 for Judges, Scorekeepers and Timekeepers

Tigers (age 4-6), Junior Dragons (purples), Dragons (age 7-12), Jr. Black Belts, young Black Belts (age 12-16), Teens

Medals awarded for participation, 4th, 3rd, 2nd & 1st place.

Schedule of Check-In and Competition Times**:

(NOTE **These are estimates, as we never know until that day how many competitors we will have and therefore, some rings might take longer than others).

All Kids In Tigers Classes (age 4-6), includes white thru purple belts:

Check in Begins at 9 am

Competition Begins at 9:30

All kids age 7 and up (or competing as a Dragon) must have sparring gear to compete in sparring (head, hand and foot):

Dragons (white thru blue belt):

Check in begins at 10 am

Competition begins at 10:30am

Dragons (green stripe thru full brown):

Check in at 11 am

Competition at 11:30 am.

Jr. Black Belts/Young Black Belts/Teens:

Check in begins at 12:30 PM, competition at 1PM

*We will divide these kids up by age, belt level and size (height/weight) for the most fair groups. If your young student attends adult classes, they can do either this competition or the adult competition on the 21st. Any competitors under the age of 18 must have a parent sign their safety form – this can be done this week or I can email an online version.

It’s almost banquet time! If you’ve never been to one and you became a black belt in recent years – you’ll want to add this to your annual events list! This is a great evening of food, fun and frivolity with your black belt tribe. It’s a chance to celebrate this thing that we all love so much (Shaolin) and to have fun with our brother and sister black belts & black sashes. There are door prizes, games, awards and big certificates for new black belts/sashes that you can only receive by attending the banquet. It’s a chance to dress up a little, to wear shoes….. The food is good, the company is great!

You can bring guests, though it’s $50 per person. It’s a buffet (menu is listed below). If you don’t want to eat from the menu, you still have to pay $50 (because we have to pay by the headcount), and then you can pay for something different from the menu if you like.

We do NOT make money from this event. Your payment covers the food & the venue.



This second seminar will be Sunday July 14th 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The theme is Transformation!

Master Sheryl will teach out the Butterfly Sword drills and form (helping to prepare you for Grandmaster Sin’s upcoming Butterfly Sword seminar in August!)
We’ll have a discussion on transformation — where have you transformed in your life, was it intentional or coincidental and what lead to it? Where else would you like to transform and how will you achieve it?
And we usually all go out to eat together afterward (not included).



KIDS SUMMER CAMP – July

It’s the return of our kung fu kids camp!

Enroll your child for our week-long summer day camp. They’ll learn new material, do fun activities, get creative, and make great memories.

The total cost is $300 per child — $100 to hold their spot, and additional $200 on the first day of camp.

– Sparring gear will be required, along with a tee shirt and gi pants

– Child will bring a sack lunch, snacks will be provided

– Activities will include kung fu, tai chi, board games, meditation, arts & crafts, and more!

– Open to all 7-12 year olds, no prior experience needed!



Women’s Year of the Dragon Seminar Series: Giving, Self-Love & Self-Care

Master Sheryl is excited to offer this 3 part series to celebrate both the Year of the Dragon (she is one) and to kick off Women’s History Month!

This year, instead of just a women’s retreat, we’re offering 3 gatherings. All are open to teen girls through senior women, kung fu or tai chi practitioners.

This final installment will be Sunday July 14th 4:30 pm to 8:30ish. The theme is Heralding the Season of Giving!

Giving self-love/care and giving to others:
We’ll introduce all the equipment for the kneading of sore muscles at the school, introduce some stretches, make some scented bath salts and massage oils. We’ll enjoy some yoga and meditation.
We’ll have a discussion on community: who is your community? What do you do for your community? How can you expand that? How can you bring other people into your vision?
We’ll decorate the school for the upcoming holidays, set up the donation bags for the holiday food drive, and kick off the holiday season with a little potluck of our own!


