Swimming Body Pa Kua – 10AM to 1PM Sunday Feb 22nd
In 1984 when I was a yellow belt, I would see announcements posted on the door about upcoming seminars in Lexington by Grandmaster Sin. These were exotic forms like Hua Fist, 8 Drunken Immortals and the internal art of Pa Kua. He would teach the 8-section pa Kua form across 8 weeks. Now 40 years later I am so excited to learn a form created by the student of the master that made our classical 8-section form. It is called the swimming body Pa Kua (35 postures and 7 sections) and will be one of your soon-to-be favorites for the way it flows continuously from one posture to another. Forms like this end up changing the way you move and think about movement.

Tai Chi Whipping Stick – 2:30PM to 4:30PM Sunday Feb 22nd
The second half of the day Grandmaster Sin will be sharing the Tai Chi Whipping Stick (Tai Chi Pian Kan). This is an 18 movement form broken into 6 sections (3 moves per section). It is a very cool form that has the stick being used back and forth in both hands and lots of fancy swings and combos. it is fluid, beautiful and yet also effective. The stick reaches from the ground to about your elbow height. The stick is not provided but a short stick from the school can be used as well. This form will be the easier of the two forms to learn for lower belts.
